Real interviews aren’t just whiteboards

Lots of prep tools nail the coding part. But the moment someone says “Tell me about a time you disagreed with a teammate,” half of us go blank. Behavioral rounds matter—especially at the big tech companies. They’re looking for how you think, how you work with others, and whether your stories have a clear situation, task, action, and result.

We’ve had technical and system design practice for a while. Now you can choose “Behavioral” as the interview type when you set up a session. The AI runs a proper behavioral round: situational questions, follow-ups that build on what you said, and an analysis that scores you on structure, impact, and clarity—the stuff that actually matters when you’re telling stories, not writing loops.

How it works

When you create or edit an interview configuration, you’ll see the interview type option: Technical (default) or Behavioral. Pick Behavioral and we tailor the whole run to that format. The opener sets the stage. Questions are the classic “Tell me about a time when…” style. Follow-ups probe your answers instead of jumping to a new topic. And when the session’s over, the analysis uses behavioral rubrics—structure (e.g. STAR), impact, clarity—so you know what to tighten for next time.

You can still do technical and system design whenever you want. This is another mode in the same product: one place for coding, design, and behavioral prep.

Why we added it

We kept hearing that people wanted to practice the “soft” side too—leadership, conflict, teamwork, prioritization. Not as an afterthought, but as a first-class option. So we made it one. Same credits, same dashboard, same flow. Just pick the type that matches what you’re prepping for today.
